Many of the children are arriving without even shoes on their feet. It was, i believe, a desperate scramble for them to get on these flights. So many of the children have only known conflict. Their country has been at war over their entire young lives. Many of the children, when they come into the safe play space that we've established, it's the first time that they've been able to laugh or do simple things like color or kick a little bald ot.
