The Lakota Lived in Tippies, Not Horses

Bison was so central to the material culture of the Lakota and other plains tribes, that even their homes were made of buffalo hides. The reason why the Lakota could be living in tippies and cover as an extensive ground following the buffalo herds as they did was because they had horses. After studying just about every human lifestyle that ever existed, plenty of anthropologists have argued that nomadic peoples are some of the happiest on earth.
