The Disaster of Santa Domingo

Trujillo lays the foundation for a myth that he single-handedly rescues Santa Domingo in its hour of need. He has the National Congress pass an emergency law suspending the Constitution and giving the president the power to deal with the relief effort. These you could compare this to like the emergency powers Hitler gets after the Reichstag fire. It is kind of interesting to be like, hey, you're it's not the typical thing of I'm killing the people that you hate or I'm killing this threat that's going to bring us down. Yeah. Trujillo uses the hurricane for that.
