A Caverida did take some pity on them and he allowed them to stay. Possibly because he knew that they were good workers. The men settled down into the community. Many of them getting married and quickly having children on the way. According to Courtney, James Porta may have changed his name to a corner but to his newfound friends in Chile, he was their beloved Don Santiago.
