The key here to remember is that there is no cirosa in the esophageal tract. This is one of the parts of the body that has multiple different blood supplies from different origins. The thoracic portion of the esophagus actually gets blood flow straight from the aorta. And then the abdominal portion of theEsophagus gets blood supply from the left gastric and inferior phrenic arteries.
