I'm not sure I had any real friends. My son is funny. He's like a little philosopher. His only Christmas present every single year was he wanted to go fishing and hunting with his dad. Now I'm a college professor so you can imagine what kind of a hunter and fisherman that I am but I'll do anything to hang out with my kids. Real friends don't come naturally in your position. You got to do the work for real friends.
