We're making the sameargument that abraham lincoln made on slavery. The very arguments that are used to justify enslaving the dark man worked real well for a whole lot of whites who were walking around as free creatures. New born is not self aware, and he's neither is self aware. Neither has a sense of themselves existing over time. They don't view themselves as ontologically different than their mothers. There's not a whole lot to commend a new born or a fetus to us in terms of its functional abilities. Peter singer rightly says, you cannot draw this arbitrary line at birth and r the new born, while you say it's perfectly fine to kill the foetus
