The Third Commandment Is No Longer Binding for Christians

According to St. Paul in Colossians chapter two, verse 16, he understood that Christians were no longer bound by the ceremonial precept for worshiping God in this way on that particular day. And so now we have it open and available for the church to make that sort of decision and judgment. The apostles and their successors are clearly given by Christ a certain judicial authority, an authority to make precepts to govern the life of the Christian community and Christian worship.
