The History of the Method

Isaac Kohn: The method continues to shape our understanding of what constitutes quote unquote good acting, perhaps maybe especially in the theater. We still have its standards of quality, even as the term in the public eye has come to mean a sort of very weird thing that has almost nothing to do with what it actually is or what teachers of the method would teach you.
