Pantoom is a Malaysian form of poetry that takes eight lines and each line is repeated. Kay Olandai Barrett writes this in an absolute classic way with no modification whatsoever. So what we have in the poem is that as a child, I was dressed as a bumblebee buzzing, as the first line and the sixteenth line. They repeat each other throughout the poem.
