The New Logic of Expansion for Expanse Sake
imperialism is guided by a new logic of expansion for expansions sake, you know, just about dominating as many new territories as possible. It means an extension of a state machine, of a state apparatus, into new places so as to control people without outward or explicit violence. So the horrors that it produced make its connection to totalitarianism very clear. A imper ism and the colonialism that came before it are horrific examples of what humans are really capable of and the harms they can inflict on other humans.
