The Worst Ever Bird Flu Epidemic
The world is going through its worst ever outbreak of bird flu. The H5N1 virus has been circulating in birds since 1996. Every so often it jumps to other animals and that's when scientists become concerned. 79 countries have detected the infection and over 208 million birds have died worldwide. In the UK, 4 million birds have had to be culled in the last year alone.
