CHAPTER

The Last Ballads of Robin Hood

The last two ballads of robin hood that survive are from maybe the 14 eighties or nineties. And they both survived in a collection of manuscripts called the percy folio, which was found hundreds of years later in a house in London. One is about an outlaw named robin and his friend gandolin who try to avenge robin's death. The other is another sort of strange tale that seems to have gaps where the manuscript might have been lost or cut off. It starts with robin hood having a dream in which he is attacked and cornered by two yeomen who have strange appearances and strange clothes.
