It was popularized by viral video posted on tiktok early February 2023 in which a skier hits the gritty while wearing skis. Tiktoker at who's diced posted a low res video of Fort Knight showing a character doing the gritty while the player says, oh my god, he's literally hitting the Gwiddy right now. And that one got like 1.8 million views. So it looks like this dude accidentally said Gwiddy and then people have just like evolved it.
