The Only Way Out of a Protracted Leadership Contest Is to Get Rid of Liz Truss

There's an awful lot of moving parts here, and essentially, in theory, Liz Truss is safe under the normal rules of the Conservative Party. The only route out, apart from some massive chaotic event that just means she has to go, she goes by accident, is if the rest of the Parliamentary Conservative Party unites around one candidate. But this is not a united and happy ship. They are all at each other's throats. There are any number of different names being thrown around, and all of them would be immensely controversial to at least one part of the Parliamentary Party.
