The Importance of Consumption in Capitalism
Baudrillard is good in that he brings up consumption as a big component of the more, I don't know the postmodern capitalist economy or what have you. Baudrillard was on to this because France went through this very rapidly after World War II. The term that I use that it's akin to retail therapy is one I got from Colin Campbell. It's imaginative hedonism and he does an extraordinary book called The Romantic Ethic and the Spirit of Consumerism.
