Why Do Corporations Matter?

David Miller: Why do corporations matter with respect to the truth or falseness of a theory? If you're only looking at it in terms of is this true or is it not, then yeah, he's right. All sorts of things, including corroborations, change the state of the knowledge about our theory. A corroboration kills off nascent competitors. It makes it much harder to come up with competitors. And it also tells us something about verisimilitude.
