The History of Methylene Blue

Methylene blue was developed in the late 1800s. The idea of it being used as a medicine was pioneered by Paul Erlich, and he won the Nobel Prize for discovering that methylene blue could kill malaria. Methylene blue has an affinity to get into cells very easily. It can be very quickly absorbed through a cell membrane.
