How Much Can a Brewer Get for Expended Grains?
Bob Greene: Brewers grains vary. It depends on the ingredients going in, he says. The bigger breweries will take so much out of that grain they end up with a higher protein than smaller brewers can extract from it. Once you know the value of it, for instance, corn is worth about 180 bucks a ton,. ground corn and beanmeal is worth about 300 just to pick some arbitrary numbers.
