The Problem With the Origin of Mithril
The idea that mithril has some sort of healing or preserving quality doesn't bother me too much. I think there are multiple problems with this that we need to break down. If it's apocryphal, why tell it at all? Because for them, of course, it's not apocryphal. And if it does indeed contain the light of the Silmarils, then it would contain something that is essentially a healing or preservative property for the elves. Right.
