The Implications of White's Refusal to Cooperate

The CIA already know about Philby's departure. Who told them? White shrugs. The Americans think we're incompetent or worse corrupt. They're refusing to share any more nuclear secrets. It's a bloody mess. A strongest ally during the Cold War, when nuclear weapons are crucial to our defence, is refusing to cooperate with us. At least this way there won't be any drawn out court cases scrutinising our work. God knows we could do without that.
