Is There a Determinism in the World?
In science, people use determinism in all sorts of different ways. It's important to keep this idea separate from other ways of talking about determinism. Things that happen in our brains and our bodies are pretty much deterministic - although there might be some indeterminism on the basic physical level. So if we want an indeterminism that is irelevant for free free will, we have to be able to locate indeterminism in something that's relevant for free will, like brains and human environment,. R so if there's determinism, indeterminacy in some god forsaken planet, it doesn't help us in terms of free will.
