I have long been fascinated by the fact that the modern detective and the modern serial killer were both born in 1888 they were born holding their little hands. Sherlock Holmes first appears in print in 1888 and Jack the Ripper the man the myth the maybe not just one person appears also in 1888 and it's almost like they needed each other.
