Greg Boington's Disappointment With Alcohol

Greg Boington became known as kind of a mean drunk. He would get in fights at the Pensacola officers club. While staging an impromptu mock dogfight over Quantico, Boington's plane ran into trouble and he had engine trouble. The only place he could put the bird down and not kill people was the firing range at Quantico,. which happened to be being used at that time.
