The Importance of Reversing Your Original Perspective on Status Quo Bias

There's some prima facia reason at least for suspecting that, in particular, judgments in bioethics might be susceptible to status quo bias. And so here is how you can test whether you might be infected bystatus quo bias. One thing you can try is the perhaps counterintuitive approach of trying to reverse your original perspective. In a generic curve, only very few points will be local optima. For most points, it will be the case either that you would get the higher value by moving up or by moving down.
