I'm not surprised that the level of lobbying, I think there is an interesting kind of geopolitical anger to discuss. The risking as a strategy to kind of energize or scale up private, the energy transition in particular has been used by European countries for longer than the Biden administration has made it like a cornerstone of their policy. China has done this for much longer and in many ways Europeans were much more relaxed about creating markets for Chinese solar manufacturing than they were about creating market for US solar or car manufacturing. And that has to do something with the geopolitical tensions within what we think is the North Alliance rather than otherwise.
Featuring Daniela Gabor, Ted Fertik, and Tim Sahay on Bidenomics. We define and debate the new American industrial policy, the energy transition, the New Cold War with China—and more.
