The First Time Your Supervisor Gives You a Tough Job and You Crack It
There were two steps really. One was a collaboration meeting, an internal meeting at CERN. And I knew the first look at the data from 2012. We'd had a hint of it in 2011 but that wasn't statistically significant enough to tell their discovery. What you got feeling was a command and this looked real at that point. The first time your supervisor gives you a tough job and you crack it. That's something most scientists would identify with.
