The Anomalies of Science
Science progresses in a process of three distinct phases, normal science, crisis and revolution. Coon argues that most of normal science is like a kind of puzzle-soul. It's the thing scientists do except for those rare moments when a theory has to completely rework itself. Most scientists find anomalies but they're often postponed as long as the current paradigm can be maintained.
