The danger of abandoning one's true self to fit in leads to conformity and submission. In extreme situations, not se germany, and they're all wearing uniforms and and spouting the same thing. And if you don't, the penalties can be very harsh there. They would kill you. If you live in a fashious society, it's very hard to be an individual. The will and requirements of a strong personality naturally leads us to fashion.
