A Brief History of Aviation Disasters
Boeing B-17 was built by Boeing at the Army's request for a large multi-engine bomber. The four-engine, low-wing monoplane first debut July 28, 1935. In 1941, British Royal Air Force piloted several planes for high-altitude missions. It's no coincidence that after flying over England, the B-17s became the home to many gremlins of their own.
