The Importance of Women in Leadership
It's impossible to be certain, but I think you can make a reasonable case that there was in a perhaps in Jesus's time some more authority given to the women. That seems kind of inevitable in what was a very patriarchal society at the time as Christianity is spreading into the broader Greco-Roman world. So it seems to me that's a difficult would be a difficult thing for them to fight against and maintain over the centuries.
