Severian's Perfect Memory

Severian was stabbed with a leaf and the leaf actually kind of not anthropomorphized, but it became more lifelike than it was. She said it like changed tent as a pulled blood up into it. Then Severian somehow revives. We don't really get the understanding of how he does that.
