How Much Time Do You Plan to Dedicate to That Phase?

Eight weeks is a typical timeframe for any phase, whether it's the first phase, the middle phase, or the last phase. A lot of that phase is focused on longer types of runs as long as they can. If the ultra marathon is shorter, like 50 K or 50 mile, and particularly the athlete is faster, then the emphasis on those longer, you know, big, really long runs is obviously less because it's not as specific to the race.
