The History of Cash

Cash was the only way many years ago in which to pay because banking and money system wasn't as sophisticated as it is now. People used to go into the shop with cash and they would pay for everything with cash. This of course had a security issue because people got robbed in their homes, got robbed in the streets,. shops and banks got robbed because there used to be piles of cash. And then we had the introduction of checks where people wrote checks and gave them to people which had the same value as money. We now use extensively bank cards, initially credit cards where effectively the bank gave you money on this card and then you could pay it back or as we more commonly use now debit
