The Origins of Libido
The libido isn't a kind of biological force that sere from the start. Its something that's forged through our early interactions with our caregivers. And within those interactions we're going to have complicated mixtures of pleasure and pain, satisfaction and suffering. The real question is there, do we see the libido as a singlein mental force on this perhaps rather simplicitic model? Or do we see things as much more complicated, so that that original satisfaction is also tinged with refusal, repudiation, disgust, fear, perhaps some archaic form of anxiety?
