Michael McNamee was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts and appointed to the fire department in 1972. The Worcester cold storage fire occurred in his 27th year on the job. Michael retired in 2009 after serving for a total of 37 years. Robin Utz told the story live in Boston where we partner with Public Radio Station WGBH.
