He says it has to do with oral tradition and written tradition, which the belief is that they were both passed down to Moses on Sinai. The descendants of the organization that ostracized Spinoza are just going through a process now as to whether to revoke his excommunication. They called on Spinoza scholars around the world to give their opinion.
