Charles II, the Mary Monoc
With the monarchy restored, King Charles II became known as the Mary Monoc. He was all about fun and fancy living - he brought back touching his subjects if they had a skin disease called Scroffula. Arts and culture boomed during the restoration with women finally allowed to perform on the stage. People also like to hang out in new coffee houses which were popping up all over the cities. But it wasn't like an episode of Friends, because, well, women weren't really allowed in. And also, the men would just talk about politics, which isn't very funny.
