Things have definitely got more urgent in terms of what the empirical information coming from the planet and its behaviour errars has been in the last decade. But i suppose i'm proud that i stuck my neck out over a decade ago and drew attention to this issue, because at the time, i was being roundly pilloryd by many of my perhaps more conservative scientific colleagues for drawing attention to these potentially high impact, but in their view, probably low probability, outcomes. And it's still the case, ten years on, that he climate community is trying to adjust its risk presentation, and it's getting better. Part of the west antarctic ice sheet might be in an irreversible retreat already
