The Future of Scala

Scala's IDEs are a key element of the future of programming. John DeGos points this out in his blog post about what he would like to see in the future of Scala and then his follow up blog that is giving up on Scala. Like, if you are not as a language designer, creator, maintainer, whatever, if you're not thinking about how to provide amazing ID support, then like what? You know, it doesn't even occur to you.
