Don't be so sure that your stupid intervention will only do what you think it will do, only the good things. Be certain that it will produce unintended consequences because it will. The Summerville study done back in the 1930s was one of the first large scale public health interventions on the psychological front. It showed kids who were prone to conduct disorder and then criminal behavior did worse on virtually every measure.
