Hera's Temptation
Hera knew that Heracles was about to be born and would be very powerful. She convinced Zeus to swear an oath that the descendant of Perseus, being born that night, would become High King. But Hera did this knowing that another baby, Eurystheus, who was also a descendant of PerseUS, was going to be born as well. Now that Zeus's oath had been sworn, Hera went straight to Elkmane, who was already in labor. And she wanted to slow things down so that Heracles might be born the next day.
