The Rights of Nature in the United States

To date there are 12 countries where laws have been passed at the local, state and national level with this rights of nature concept embedded within them. The first enforcement cases were brought beginning in 2011 where you had rivers as plaintiffs. In the US we have over three dozen communities now that have passed rights of nature laws. And so this concept is spreading, it's kind of hot right now.
