Some of the most inspiring teachers and people I've met in education work in the state sector. We have a long school day, we spend more than 50% of our time doing activities that are non-academic. And that is, I think, central to the school's ethos. It's the stuff that happens around the edges, it happens outside the classroom that I think is in the DNA of a lot of boarding schools.
