In the Broken Earth trilogy, you've got people who have the ability to literally move mountains. But there aren't very many of them; they're captured and brainwashed by their oppressors. And so we've seen this happen again and again in our own world. It's not necessarily a good thing but it's how power works. We need to understand how our world works if we're going to be rendering this in another world.
