The Importance of Localization Capabilities in a Spacecraft
Lisa is a kind of tumbling triangle that's moving in orbit around with the Earth as it's going around the Sun. Depending on the configuration, both of that triangle, as well as where it is on that orbit around the Sun, you're getting to look at the same object at different times in different ways. And if it's taking a little longer to unfold, then you're getting really precise measurements. Not only that, but also you're able to tell where is the source, because the position in the source determines the signature of the signal strength of the amplitude of the signal.
