What's Happening in a Rocket?
In 19 69, the first telescopes were used to look at another world on our doorstep. And what they found was that there were landscapes there - mountains, craters and plains. Within a few decades of those observations, human beings were writing science fiction stories about a journey to the moon. So this is over 400 years ago. This was already happening. Now, it takes another few centuries before we work out the mechanics and the mathematics of what it would take to launch a heavy enough craft with all the stuff we need keep us alive off the earth.
