The Limits of the Atomic Model
Bo's model or atom 3.0 is a reasonably good model it explains quite a lot but has its limitations most of all it incorporated classical and quantum mechanical ideas. Bo was able to explain atomic emission spectra and the paradox from Rutherford's model that atoms should be unstable and collapse in a fraction of a second so this was a big step forward in atomic theory. Later physicists developed a fully quantum mechanical models of the atom which are far more satisfactory and now provide the best models for understanding the atom today.
