Did Hosea Marry a Prostitute?
I think modern readers of Hosea really get hung up on this idea, did Hosea marry a prostitute? Back to that theme that Jesus is the faithful husband and his bride is the church. When she cares more about someone else, when the church does not stay faithful to Christ, she is the whore. So I think big picture, I would look at this as a type. My approach is always typological when I get into chapter 1. And it's drenched in the image of a marriage and an unfaithful spouse.
