My Powerful Hair
Carol Costello and Steph Littlebird are the authors of a new book, My Powerful Hair. The title refers to First Nations people's belief that their hair holds strength. Many indigenous children were forced to cut off their hair at Indian boarding school. For many it is still an important part of their identity.
